The Dark Side of the ... Internet

"I've seen things you people would not believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion ... and I saw beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain.
Time to die. " [Blade Runner]

C'è gente che fermamente convinta di sentire voci che disquisiscono philosophy of religion and believed to be in contact with the guardian angel or maybe the aliens (even more of this later).
People who believe strongly that the experiment would necessarily on the opening of the LHC creating a black hole is intended to suck the earth (for the record, the start of the "Large Hadron Collider built at CERN is the day fixed for September 10, 2008).
So I was impressed by the unlimited extension of the pockets of complete scientific ignorance that lie on the net, and frankly I felt almost a moral duty to write something. It 'true that the Internet is the medium of communication par excellence, but it is also true that the quality of information reaching us is not controlled in any way, with the obvious exception of some sites. Besides, if people had had a better preparation (and let's face epsilon is still better than zero) are firmly convinced that some phenomena could not have expanded like wildfire. The sad story is that these do not always end well (as in the case of doctors alleged that convince patients to abandon conventional therapies in favor of some weird alternative therapy from the dubious value) and are often made solely to profit. E 'admirable ability of these people pretend to be able to complete conviction of his ideas, but more often what is behind these dynamics is selling gadgets of various kinds (ranging from the infamous Orgone, the houses in the afterlife).
people meditate, meditate.
